The venue is also set to stage games in the 2025 Gold Cup and has drawn large crowds for international club friendlies, including the 2022 clash between Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Sports News Today of Las Vegas chose not to bid for World Cup hosting rights, having withdrawn in 2018 because of the high costs required to upgrade Allegiant Stadium to meet FIFA standards. At the time, Steve Hill, President and COO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, stated that the necessary renovations would have exceeded $100 million. Nevertheless, FIFA’s interest in bringing the World Cup to Las Vegas has remained strong.
